Invirtus Corporation pioneered the technology credited with reducing the size of virtual machines and continues to lead the development of tools that assist with the management of virtualization technologies, a market that Gartner estimates will grow to $30 billion by 2008. Invirtus is a fast growing privately held company based in Atlanta, Georgia (US). VM Optimizer came about after years of research and talking with hundreds of individuals about how they use virtual machines. From the feedback received Invirtus is currently developing new technologies that will help companies discover innovative ways to enhance their IT capabilities while extending their IT budgets.
Differentiation
In March 2006 Gartner, Inc. selected Invirtus for the elite “Cool
Vendors in Emerging Technologies, 2006” report. As 1 of 10 firms worldwide for 2006, this
distinction is overwhelming. According to Gartner, vendors selected for the “Cool Vendor report” are
innovative, impactful and intriguing.
"We feel Gartner, Inc. has mirrored what our customers have told us since October 2005 when we shipped VM Optimizer – that the ability to reduce VM size by up to 80% creates significant business value, increased ROI and capacity." said Tom Edwards, Invirtus CEO. "As a result customers are adding VM Optimizer as a must have tool to their solution suite and we continue to learn more about what our customers need, which is driving development of new, innovative solutions.”
