founded Invirtus in April 2005 and is our Founder and CEO. Edwards has twenty years of experience in the industry with
over twelve years experience at Microsoft Corporation. Since founding Invirtus, he
has successfully led the company in developing, launching and shipping four versions of
vOptimizer, three versions of vConverter, one release of vPackager with many
more products and technologies in active development.
Edwards has long been an Internet pioneer and felt compelled to resolve the
problems he experienced first hand while he and his team worked with virtual
machine technologies. He recognized that virtual machines were being shared
among peers across all boundaries and were redefining ways in which people that
rely on technology were doing business. The mission was simple- figure out a way
to make virtual machines more accessible to more people. In November 2005,
Invirtus launched its flagship, VM Optimizer.
While at Microsoft, Edwards directed business development, marketing strategy
and execution activities for a sector of the Network Solutions Group. Prior to
that, he held positions in the field as Corporate Account Executive, Business
Development Manager and Channel Development Manager. In his most recent position
as Lead Program Manager, Edwards managed a program between all Microsoft
enterprise facing product groups (Windows Server, Exchange Server, SQL Server,
et al) and the worldwide sales and services organization. This program was
consistently the highest rated internal program for delivering virtual systems
content. Prior to Microsoft, he was a Corporate Account Executive at Lotus
Development Corporation.
Edwards is a loving husband and father of four. He is an accomplished guitarist,
voted 4th best guitar player in a 1992 nationwide search, enjoys genealogy,
photography and physical fitness. |
