FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Invirtus Corporation Named "Cool
Vendor"
by Leading Analyst Firm
Vendors selected for
the “Cool Vendor report” are innovative, impactful and intriguing
Atlanta,
GA – April 25, 2006 – Invirtus, the leading provider of tools
that today's businesses need to help minimize the size and problems associated
with distributing virtual machine technology, has been included in the “Cool
Vendors in Emerging Technologies, 2006” report by Martin Reynolds, et al., Gartner,
Inc. (30 March 2006). The 10 cool vendors highlighted in the report provide
products “that tie to massively scalable computing resources, and the hardware
and software technologies that can cost-effectively deliver those resources.”
Invirtus was analyzed in the report that “identifies
scalability as the next great IT challenge.” According to the Gartner Report, “Data
centers are exceeding their power and cooling capabilities; servers — virtual
and real — are proliferating at a rate only exceeded by the available hardware
processing units to run them; and reduced computing costs per element guarantee
that exponentially increasing amounts of data will be collected, stored and
analyzed.”
"We feel the Gartner report has mirrored what our
customers have told us – that the ability to reduce VM size by up to 80%
creates significant business value through increased capacity," said Tom Edwards, Invirtus CEO. “As a result of this new found capacity, customers are adding VM
Optimizer as a must-have tool to their solution suite.”
VM Optimizer™ automatically reduces any Microsoft®
Windows® based virtual machine to their smallest possible size,
whether you are running on VMware® WorkstationTM,
VMware GSX ServerTM, VMware ESX ServerTM, Microsoft
Virtual PCTM or Microsoft Virtual ServerTM.
“Invirtus is vastly learning more about customer needs
which is driving development of new, innovative solutions which will fuel rapid
growth,” continued Edwards. “We are very excited
about our work in this area and believe it will further demonstrate our
technological and industry leadership toward making virtualization technology
more accessible to more people."

are: Innovative, enable users to do things they couldn't do before; Impactful,
have, or will have, business impact (not just technology for the sake of
technology); Intriguing, have caught Gartner's interest or curiosity in
approximately the past six months.
